Buses and Bicycles
In Finland, more and more bus routes now allow you to bring your bike along. You can easily purchase a bike ticket through Matkahuolto’s online service. Bicycle-friendly departures are clearly marked with a bike icon, and you can filter the timetable search to show only departures where bike tickets are available.
However, not all routes offer the option to buy a bike ticket in advance. In such cases, it may still be possible to take your bicycle as luggage, if there is enough space on the bus. Always confirm this in advance with the bus operator.

Trains and Bicycles
Taking your bike on the train is easy and convenient in Finland. Most long-distance and commuter trains allow bicycles. On long-distance trains, you must reserve a bike space in advance. On commuter trains, bicycles can be transported free of charge in designated areas.
Please note that bicycles are not allowed on Pendolino trains. Night trains and car-carrier trains also allow bikes, but you must book a bike space separately. In car-carrier trains, bikes cannot be transported on car roof racks, but they can be attached to tow bar or rear hatch racks.
