A diverse range of museums can be found along the route, such as Pukstaavi and the Sarkia Museum in Sastamala, the Emil Cedercreutz Museum in Harjavalta, examples of outsider art and “Äijä statues” along the route, as well as many cultural attractions in Pori.
- Nature & the River: The magnificent Puurijärvi–Isosuo National Park, Aranttilankoski Rapids, and the Paratiisilehto Nature Trail highlight the area’s natural beauty. The Ripovuori viewpoint in Huittinen offers the best panoramic view of the river valley. The Kokemäki River also provides regular opportunities for refreshing swims, and canoeing on the river is possible.
- Pori: The lively city center and South Shore are full of life and events. The Kirjurinluoto area offers plenty to see and do, while the Puuvilla district showcases Pori’s fascinating industrial history.

The route is mostly flat and very easy to cycle. It runs along various types of road surfaces — at times on cycle paths and gravel roads, main roads, or roadside lanes. When traveling on any type of road, it is important to keep general safety in mind and to be aware of road surface conditions. In some remote areas, there may be occasional rough patches or road damage, so allowing plenty of time for your journey is always a good idea. Overall, however, the roads along the route are in good condition.
- The River Trail can be cycled in both directions. It is divided into natural stages between railway stations, offering excellent flexibility in planning your own journey. The following train stations serve the River Trail: Pori, Harjavalta, Kokemäki, Vammala, and Karkku.
The total length of the river route from Sastamala, where the Lake Trails connect, to Pori is approximately 145 km. The route is divided into clear stages that follow the riverside municipalities and train stations. More detailed descriptions of each stage can be found on the website jokireitti.fi.
